titles of professor emeritus of aerospace and
ocean engineering and vice president for research
emeritus from the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
Donald Gray “Don” Warren Jr. ’ 77 of Simpsonville,
S.C., joined McCrory Construction Co. as executive vice president. He’s a former executive
vice president of the Carolinas division of Moss
1978 Joseph Earl Hightower ’ 78 of Jefferson, N.C., retired from the
U.S. Department of the Interior after 30 years as
a fisheries biologist. Richard Theodore Redano ’ 78
of Knoxville, Tenn., was appointed to the board of
directors of the Great Smoky Mountain chapter
of Tau Beta Pi in Knoxville.
Emerle F. “Frank” Stephenson ’ 65, ’ 68 MED of Murfreesboro, N.C., was
presented the 2015 Christopher Crittenden Memorial Award by the N.C.
Literary and Historical Association. He is the author of 27 books on local
and regional North Carolina history and culture including The Campus
History Series: Chowan College, Images of America: Hertford County
and The Great American Chitlin Cookbook.
