He’s a certified consulting meteorolog-ist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s
Savannah River National Laboratory.
1979 William “Bill” Vogedes III ’ 79 of Edenton, N.C., is 2015–16 chairman-elect for the Independent Insurance Agents
of North Carolina. He’s president of Vogedes
Insurance Agency Inc.
1980 Mark Alan Trexler ’ 80 of Marshall, Texas, is president and CEO of
Master Woodcraft Cabinetry LLC. He had served
as president and chief operating officer since 2012.
Harold Frederick “Hal” Wolf ’ 80 of Grand Lake,
Colo., joined The Chartis Group as a director and
member of its leadership team, focusing on digital
health strategy. He’s a former senior vice president
and chief operating officer of Kaiser Permanente’s
1981 Craig Richard Clark ’81 MSE, ’ 14 PHD of Alfred, N. Y., was promoted to
vice president of economic development at Alfred
State, a college in the State University of New York
system. He had been dean of the School of Applied
Technology at the college’s Wellsville, N. Y., campus.
1982 Joseph H. Haddock ’82 of New Bern, N.C., joined Harvey Fertilizer &
Gas as a credit manager. David Collins Morgan ’82
of Wake Forest, N.C., was named executive vice
president and chief banking officer of Union Bank.
He had been the bank’s Wake County market
executive. Donald Robert van der Vaart ’82 MS of
Raleigh is the secretary of the North Carolina
Department of Environmental Quality. He had
been a chief deputy secretary in the department.
Jeff Lee Vuncannon ’82 of Ellerbe, N.C., was
appointed to the Richmond Community College
(N.C.) Board of Trustees.
1983 Robert K. “Kevin” Jackson ’83 of Fayetteville, N.C., is interim
president of Harnett Health. He most recently was
vice president of post-acute services at Cape Fear
1985 Dr. Shannon Stewart Carson ’85 of Chapel Hill, N.C., received the H.
Fleming Fuller Award for his commitment to
patient care, teaching and community service.
He’s a professor of medicine and division chief in
pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine at
UNC-Chapel Hill. Leslie Walker Joyce ’85 MS, ’91 PHD
